CPR Tools’ Hammer implements the Secure Erase command to completely purge all data from ATA harddrives. This easy to use, one-step device connects to up to four harddrives via standard cables and erases data at speeds up to 4.0 GB per minute. For onsite data purging, the compact, portable Hammer operates as a stand alone device...or connect to the CPR Toolbox software utility (included) for additional functionality. Optional battery-powered Bluetooth printer allows an audit printout to be generated onsite. THE SECURE ERASE ADVANTAGE Developed by the NSA, Secure Erase is now a stan-dard technology embedded in most ATA/SATA harddrives. When this command is implemented by the Hammer, the harddrive is assigned a random password that locks the drive down. It will not unlock until the Secure Erase procedure is complete. On drives where Secure Erase is not present, the Hammer destroys data using CPR Tools’ embedded BangDisk™ utility. NIST MEDIA SANITATION RECOMMENDATIONS The National Institute of Standards and Technology has established new standards for electronic media santization that ranks Secure Erase above degaussing at the highest security level that does not involve actual physical destruction.
