Core
Module
The Core Module is the database and report generator of the QwikScan®
system and is required to run the other modules.
BackTrak™
Module
Manage non-system media and multi-platform media, including network
server backups, optical disks and multi-platform data. File media
by system ID, media type, server ID, backup type, expiration date
or location. Manage off site storage location by random slot. BackTraktm
provides an accurate account of all incoming media by creating return
lists for scan verification.
Hot
Site/Disaster Recovery Module
Enables media verification for Disaster Recovery or Business Continuation.
The Hot Site Module provides a scanned verification prior to media
shipment, which could include containerized storage locations. Once
the media arrives at the disaster recovery site, it is again scanned
and staged for use. When the disaster recovery test is complete,
the media is scanned to insure all system media is returned as a
complete unit.
Audit
Module
Maintain location audit records for accounting verification. Audits
can be performed by location, slot and volume ID range. Audit data
transferred to the PC is verified and any discrepancy reports can
be generated. QwikScan® enables you to perform more accurate
and timely audits using fewer personnel.
Vaulting
Module
Track and verify backup media that is transferred to and from an
offsite vault location. Maintain complete inventory by media type,
location and slot. Transmit vault send and return lists to offsite
storage vendor for additional verification.
Foreign
Media Module
Automate the management of Foreign or “out-of-house”
media. Manage the Foreign library by owner/slot. Utilize predetermined
return dates to guarantee a timely return. Print transmittals and
accompanying packing information for a complete history / audit
trail.
Outcode
Media Module
Maintain location history and aging for any non-vaulted media sent
to locations other than offsite vaults. Verify returned media on
a timely basis and produce accompanying transmittals.
Random
Slot Module (Batch)
Recapture open slots within a low movement library. Maintain the
Volume/Slot relationship when filing tapes in a random environment.
Data is uploaded to the Qwikscan® PC database for users to query
the system for location information. Random Slot Module is host
system independent.
Barcode
Label Printing Module
Create barcoded labels with the included pre-designed labels or
customize labels using the tools provided. Label stock is available
for most media types.
