Designed for the medium to large-scale data center, S.A.M.® is an effective real-time barcode management solution that effectively recovers valuable floor space by eliminating empty slots in the tape library.

Through S.A.M.'s random filing system, empty slots created by tapes housed in silos or offsite storage facilities are eliminated. Additionally, S.A.M. tracks the dates tapes were last requested by drives and runs a simple report that indicates which tapes have not been used for specific periods of time. These tapes are identified and can be moved to a less expensive storage area.

By using S.A.M. the tape library will eventually be sectioned by activity levels keeping the most active tapes close to the tape drives allowing you to maintain and manage library space in a more efficient and cost-effective manner.
